Position Title: 1.0 Probationary Instructional Coach - MTSS Focus
Requirements:
New York State certification in elementary and/or middle school education required, with a strong Literacy, Math and RTI/MTSS background. A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience preferred. Have evidence of strong instructional practice and be able to develop effective relationships w/colleagues to provide training and cognitive coaching.
Description:
The Instructional Coach with a focus on MTSS provides leadership and support to teachers and staff in implementing effective, evidence-based instructional practices to meet the diverse needs of all students. This role focuses on guiding and supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of the MTSS framework, ensuring alignment with district and school goals for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success.
Key Responsibilities:
MTSS Framework Development and Implementation -Collaborate with school leadership to design and implement a comprehensive MTSS framework. Provide support in creating and monitoring Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions for academics, behavior, and social-emotional learning (SEL). -Assist in identifying and implementing appropriate assessment tools to monitor student progress and guide decision-making. -Facilitate problem-solving and data-driven decision-making teams, including MTSS leadership and intervention teams.
Coaching and Professional Development -Provide job-embedded coaching, modeling, and feedback to teachers to enhance instructional practices and intervention strategies. -Plan and deliver professional development sessions on MTSS, differentiated instruction, data analysis, and progress monitoring. -Collaborate with educators to develop and refine instructional strategies that address diverse student needs.
Data Collection and Analysis -Assist teachers in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify student needs and inform instructional practices. -Support teachers in utilizing data to create actionable goals for individual and group interventions. -Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and provide recommendations for adjustments.
Collaboration and Leadership -Foster a culture of collaboration among teachers, staff, and families to ensure successful MTSS implementation. -Act as a liaison between administration, teachers, and support staff to coordinate efforts related to MTSS. -Participate in district-wide MTSS planning and initiatives, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
